Student videographer

Missouri S&T's marketing and communications office is seeking a talented and motivated student videographer to create compelling video content for our marketing initiatives. This role offers a unique opportunity to capture authentic S&T student life from a student's perspective while developing professional skills in video production. This is designed to be a learning experience where you'll work both independently and collaboratively with our marketing and communications team on projects that enhance the S&T brand and reach prospective and current students.

This position will work a maximum of 10 hours/week. The candidate’s academic excellence is most important. If the candidate needs time away from work for coursework or study, that is more important to us than completion of the next great video project. This position will start in the Spring 2026 semester.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist senior video producer with capturing of campus video footage (including event coverage, video interviews and B-Roll)
• Edit and create video animations (motion graphics) for social media and digital content assets.

Requirements

• Proficient in newer versions of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop and/or strong editing skills in Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve.
• Previous experience with video capture and editing required. This skillset is something you have used for many months or years, not something learned on YouTube during a weekend before the job interview.
• Functional familiarity and experience with modern video cameras, electronics, as well as other related technologies. The selected candidate will primarily use a Sony EX-1 video camera, along with a DJI Osmo and Go Pro Hero cameras.
