Thank you for your interest in working for Miners in the Making, a STEM Afterschool Program for K-12 students from Phelps County. If you are interested in teaching and/or STEM, this job is one of the most rewarding jobs you can have.
Please read about the details of this job before filling out the application.
We are looking for students who:
Miners in the Making is hiring reliable student workers who want to help teachers present STEM activities to small groups of grade K-12 students, to actively supervise student behavior, to help teachers prepare materials for lessons, and most of all to ENGAGE with the students.
We are looking for students who have experience dealing with elementary children in a positive way, and who can direct and supervise groups of 10-12 children.
Our program does NOT follow the University calendar.
The typical work day is 3-6 pm, Monday through Friday, August through the end of May. We are closed for only two weeks during Winter Break, and the week of Thanksgiving. Spring Break is also a possible work week, depending on the schedule.
We understand you are students and that classes come first. We are able to work around your class and testing schedule, however we need three (3) weeks advance notice in order to meet mandatory safety and staffing requirements. This is a job that requires commitment to the scheduled work days and times due to our licensure requirements. If you have a lot of other commitments or like to plan last minute activities during scheduled work time, this is probably not the job for you.
Please address any questions to susan.reisner@mst.edu. Applicants will be notified if chosen for an interview.
