Student Assistant – Technical Focus
This position will support a variety of general office support tasks in the Division of Enrollment Management. Hourly position - 20hrs/week
NOTE: Must be present and available to work during normal campus business hours during summer break and 20 hours/week during the academic year.
Duties
- Assist in the daily operations within different units within the Division of Enrollment Management. This may include supporting administrative activities, running errands as well as data entry, data collection and processing.
- Assist in updating the websites within the division.
- Be able and willing to communicate with prospective students.
- Support open houses and campus and department tours
- Assist in reporting and data cultivation and organization.
- Assist in maintaining department blogs and social media portals.
- Support special events, in person and online.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to operate office machines, such as photocopiers and scanners.
- Be punctual and willing to work a set schedule, follow priorities, organize workload, handle multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Must be physically able to lift 20 lbs.
- Must have excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
- Must be a quick learner and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using social media professionally is a plus.
- Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook). An advanced user of Excel is required.
- Ability to quickly learn Slate (CRM).
- Experience with HTML and Terminal Four.
- Must be able to learn other software tools required by the department.
- Proficient in Internet related applications such as E-Mail clients, FTP clients, and Web Browsers.
- Experience with Photoshop, Flash and Dreamweaver is a plus. Some experience developing web graphics for web sites, Flash and multi-media assets (not necessary but would be a plus).
- Ability to troubleshoot Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
- Technical support experience and knowledge of multiple internet browsers.
