JOB OVERVIEW:
In this position, the student employee will have the opportunity to learn about multiple facets of HR. This position will provide support, gain exposure and participate in HR activities and projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Greet visitors, provide basic information to faculty, staff, students and the public
• Assist with answering phones, mailing and filing
• Provide administrative support to the department and independent HR projects as assigned
• Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary based upon business needs, skills, and interest
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Must be friendly with a positive attitude
• Ability to handle confidential information in a professional and discrete manner
• Ability to work independently is key, while working collaboratively with all levels of the HR team and our business partners
• Ability to be self‐motivated and work independently on projects and assignments
• Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
• Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills
• Must be able to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and internet applications
• Familiarity with office machines (e.g. fax, printer etc.)
WORK SCHEDULE: The Human Resources office is open Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Actual work hours will be determined at time of hire.
Completion of required University training (FERPA, Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX, others as specified).
Reports to: Employment Specialist
Compensation: $15.00/ hour
