Schedule: Part-Time – 20 Hours a Week 


Summary: The Career Support Specialist Internships role involves providing guidance on career related topics, such as resume reviews, interviewing prep, job search assistance, general advising, job offer/salary negotiation, and LinkedIn/Handshake reviews. Career Support Specialist can help students highlight their skills, experience, and achievements in a way that appeals to potential employers, increasing their chances of securing internships, co-op positions, and full-time employment after graduation. This position will also play a vital role in building on-campus relationships, and tailoring materials to our student body. 


Qualifications:  

  • Actively enrolled, full-time Missouri S&T student  
  • Good Public Speaking/Communication Skills 
  • Schedule Flexibility – Working over breaks/some weekends 
  • Previous Job Experience  
  • Graduate Level Student Preferred 
  • Co-Op/Internship Experience Preferred  
  • Customer Service Experience Preferred  
  • Have previously attended a Career Fair  
  • Organized  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Knowledge of professional staff's roles and responsibilities  
  • Assist all levels of students in developing Resumes, Interviewing Prep, Job Search Assistance, General Advising, Job Offer/Salary Negotiations, LinkedIn/Handshake Review. 
  • Research and help build presentations and resources for students on-campus. 
  • Present career related Workshops and Presentations to students, organizations, and classes. 
  • Assist in campus outreach initiatives.  
  • Provide knowledge on how and where to apply for part-time jobs, internships, co-ops, and full-time positions. 
  • Be knowledgeable of the online resources available to students through Career Opportunities and Employer Relations.
